The Hugh Lawrence Trio features Hugh Lawrence on keyboard, Steve “I Fly” Parkinson on drums, and Peter Bakaja on bass. The trio brings together a wealth of musical experience, performing an engaging mix of jazz, blues, soul, Latin American, and popular music.
Hugh, a classically trained pianist who led one of the UK’s first bands to combine steel drums with a traditional rhythm section, returned to performing after a successful legal career. He is joined by Steve, a versatile drummer with over 25 years’ experience performing and recording across genres from jazz to R&B, and Peter, a professional double bass player with an international performing career spanning Europe and the UK.
Together, the trio create an evening of cool, expressive music that blends technical mastery with relaxed, soulful energy, perfect for jazz lovers and newcomers alike.
